Treecreate Studio Inc. now a registered charity

Sea of hearts

We are really happy to share that Treecreate Studio Inc. (ABN 43 756 399 424) is now a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

This is a big step for us and we are excited to move forward with our work engaging communities creatively and critically in caring for Country. The lands, seas and skies are our guides and we hope that we continue to evolve as a community-led organisation.

Weaving Water: Looming

In other news, Treecreate Studio hosted the kick off workshop for Weaving Water: Looming at Bribie Island Library. on 29th May. Our workshop was co-led by Leanne Thompson an environmental artist who was also one of the participants for Weaving Water @ Yarun 2025.

Over the coming months, we will be working closely with community to co-create some environmental artworks to be installed at the Bribie Island Community Kindergarten and Joondoburri Walk for the Bribie Island Nature Festival in October. There is still time to submit an Expression of Interest to be a resident artist for the Looming program 5-12 October 2026.

All in for Reconciliation Week

Later in the afternoon we headed over to the Kindy to co-host an afternoon tea for our First Nations community on and around the island to honour Reconciliation Week. This year’s theme was “All in” – an important message for people and organisations committed to the task of “reconciliation.” It is such a fraught word, but at the heart is the message of healing, unity and hope. We love working with Bribie Kindy ❤ so it was a real joy to be able to give back in a small way to our incredible community. Thank you very much to Anne Brown and ANTaR QLD for sponsoring the event and for her and Richard braving rainy Friday M1 traffic to join us ❤
