LMO was a 2.5 week course with participants from around the world and speakers representing First Nations from the Oceania region. including Vanuatu, Aotearoa New Zealand, Yorta Yorta, Wiradjuri, Kamilori and many more. The focus was on understanding and engaging with place using locative media technologies and other collaborative tools to co-design projects concentrating on a number of key themes:

  • Water

  • Climate change

  • Cultural connections to place
  • Ecosystems health
  • Deep time

The themes focus on a shared concern and the need to act for the restoration of ecosystems, living with climate change, plus the impacts of forced migration and the loss of biodiversity.
